Alan Leo Pleština

Alan's reputation for mastering large-scale developments was established early in his career through national icons. This phase is anchored by Arena Zagreb, a project that achieved global recognition at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Barcelona (2009). It was named the Structural Design of the Year and was a finalist in the Sports Building of the Year category. His visionary approach was further recognized with WAF finalist positions for future projects like the Biooctanic tower and the New Stipić office building. Alongside the massive Arena Centar complex, these projects proved his ability to handle logistical and structural demands without compromising on aesthetics.

With the founding of Pulsar Arhitektura in 2013, Alan channeled this "big-project" discipline into a focused studio practice. Among a vast portfolio of ongoing work, highlights include the Z Centar (a next-generation shopping centre), the VA-MA mixed-use hub, and premium hospitality landmarks like Pullman Zagreb and the Mövenpick Split resort. In this current chapter, Alan’s focus is on creating destinations—spaces where distinctive design directly supports the long-term commercial performance and operational efficiency of the investment. This expertise also extends to the residential sector, with both high-end and affordable residential complexes currently in development stages.

Alan leads Pulsar as a collaborative environment where fresh perspectives are grounded in technical rigor. He fosters a culture where emerging architects work alongside seasoned experts, ensuring that innovation is always backed by experience. Beyond the studio, Alan is a committed thought leader, bridging the gap between architectural theory and business reality as a regular panelist and speaker at major investment and real estate forums, including REXPO, MBF, and other leading industry conferences.
